FCC ID Equipment Authorization and Application Support

Support for wireless devices subject to the FCC Certification procedure, including rule scoping, RF and exposure testing, application exhibits, TCB review coordination and FCC ID labelling checks.

Service overview

An FCC ID identifies equipment authorized under the FCC Certification procedure and combines the grantee code with an applicant-selected product code. SCS Testing supports testing and preparation of application exhibits, while the applicant remains responsible for grantee information and continued conformity of production units. This service is managed separately from general SDoC testing.

## Reports, certificates or registration outcomes Following successful TCB review, the project may receive an equipment-authorization grant and a corresponding FCC ID record. The result is not a general approval of all products made by the company and does not replace grant conditions, change-control obligations or production conformity.

Factors affecting timing

Timing depends on band and technology complexity, RF-exposure method, exhibit completeness, corrective testing and TCB questions. Change-in-identification and permissive-change projects require an eligibility review first.

Common compliance risks

• Incorrect applicant, grantee code or FCC ID construction
• Application exhibits do not match the tested sample
• Antenna, power, software or enclosure changes are made without authorization-impact review
• FCC ID authorization is presented as broad approval of product quality or safety

Who holds an FCC ID?

The FCC ID is associated with the equipment-authorization grantee, which must be able to accept responsibility for continued conformity.

## Can identical equipment be sold under multiple brands?

Device identity, grant records and labelling rules must be reviewed; a brand change does not remove grant conditions.

## Can the antenna be changed after authorization?

Only within the grant conditions and applicable change procedures. An unreviewed antenna change may invalidate the authorization basis.
